Itinerary 4: Grumari beach & Burle Marx gardens
Located about a 45-minutes drive out of town, going to this isolated site during the week is like being on a private beach, with the Atlantic forest right nearby. Enjoy a Passion Fruit or other tropical juice drink or an ice cold draft beer while enjoying the sun and the beautiful nature surrounding us.
We can visit world-famous landscape artist Roberto Burle Marx's country house and appreciate the beautiful plants that he brought from his trips around the world to acclimate here, a landmark now as well as a center of landscape studies and for nature preservation.
Besides the 350,000 m2 garden you can also see his world-class collection of pre-columbian ceramics, Brazilian popular ceramics, paintings and sculptures of several artists, as well as his own excellent work.
We can have lunch at Tia (Aunt) Carmem's restaurant, a typical (and delicious!) seafood restaurant or another excellent choice in this region.
